The beginning
Franz Huber, son of a lower Austrian merchant from Piestingtal and Peter Lerner, son of a merchant from former south Hungary, got to know each other while working for the firm Theyer & Hardtmuth in Vienna’s Kärntnerstraße, where they were both sales assistants. They became friends and decided to open a small shop together in 1901 in Rotenturmstraße. Within one year, the shop became too small, and so they moved near the imperial court to Kohlmarkt .The beginning
